Circle Y Speed Team Member Mesa Leavitt Drives Away Winner At World’s Largest Barrel Race
Eleven year old Mesa Leavitt isn’t old enough to drive, but that didn’t keep her from setting her sites on the winner’s prize of a new Dodge dually diesel crew cab truck. The 2006 Barrelnanza Finals capped off World Barrel Racing Production’s season at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma November 8 th-12 th where over 2600 entries vied for six Dodge trucks and more than $650,000 in payout, making the event the world’s largest barrel race. Circle Y Speed Team Member Mesa Leavitt set the unbeatable time of 15.371 for the win.
Mesa Leavitt continued her incredibly successful season with the win at Barrelnanza on her horse Junior’s Genuine Doc. Mesa, the daughter of Drs. Richard and Heidi Leavitt of Bluegrass, IA, is the current leader in IPRA national standings.
